Ear pierced!!! August 2010

Yet another winter, yet another cough-cold leading to yet another Ear Infection!

Get well soon, baby! Muaahhhhh

Yet another winter, yet another snowstorm, but this time business’ were closed for 3 days – Monday to Wednesday and we had 5 day weekend 🙂

Thanks to snow storm, I spent more time with my girl indoors, we played a lot, cooked a lot, and had good nap in the noon time. It was snowing outside, but warmer inside, we snuggled under the cozy sheets of comforter on my bed, with my bundle next to me, the rhythm of her light snoring [due to her cold and blocked nose], tiny hands that wrapped around my neck, baby toe fingers that periodically touched my belly, ahhhh the JOY of MOTHERHOOD!

And yes, we did go out to play in the snow, made snow-girl! 🙂

Please note the Pink cap 😉 for the snow-girl!

And this is my hunny-bunny-cutie-pie 🙂

Initially, Shriyu hates bananas. Those teeny-tiny Gerber jars worked when she was little, little meaning 5 months old 🙂 But after that around 10 months, she didnt prefer those. And so I stopped offering her bananas.

When she was 1, she started saying ‘aaapppee’ for Apple, ‘naanaaa’ for banana. And the tale continues…

…And later, when she was a year and half, when I offered her the fruit, she ate it, SURPRISE!!! But now, whenever she spots the thin long yellow fruit on the table, she points index finger to it and asks. And with a happy heart when I offer it to her, with skin half peeled, she will SCREAM, yes in caps! And frightened by her scream [Yes, truth!] I offer it to her immediately and she will calm down. As she eats it, she doesnt know that she has to peel rest of the skin off the fruit, and I try to do so, she thinks I’m snatching it away from her and again SCREAMS!!!
The second time, I offered her to fruit WITHOUT taking off any skin and she tried to peel it off, gave up and threw it on the floor and went off.
The third time, I thought I’m being clever here, cut the fruit in half [as she throws the half-eaten fruit], peel the entire skin off of it and hand it to her, she looks at it curiously, tries to take off the skin [which is NOT there], and to my shock, gives it back to me!!! No skin to peel – No fun – I dont want it Mommy! .
And since she hadnt eaten any, I offered her to other half, the skin still on, she takes it off carefully and eats it!!!! HURAAAY!

Lesson learnt: She likes the fruit, but can only eat half of it, give it to her, with skin on it, she will take it off and eat 🙂

Thats the tale of Banana 🙂

Shriya imitates her dad sooooooo much!!! Dad has the habit of munching someeee junk as soon as he comes home in the evening, and gives a bite to the lil beanie too. My clever muttoo has observed all these.

One Fine evening, Dad decided NOT to open the snack-food drawer and went upstairs to change. But our lil monster, sneaked in the kitchen, opened the drawer, took a Jalaepno Chakali & walked away with murukku in her hand and munching it!!! Oh My My My 🙂

Shriya says so many new words oflate, that I forgot to note down in the blog, so this post will sum it all up 🙂

She says balloon, happy [and sings I love you – Barney song], mommy [when I picked her from daycare once], daddy [when I picked her from crib in the morning, usually dad picks her from crib], says something like ‘bachilla’ when she either poops/pees (I still have to figure it out), T for TV, Aria [neighbor’s kid], Anoooo [again neighbor’s kid whose name is Anvay]

And am guessing she can express what she feels through words by her 2nd birthday.

Did I say 2nd birthday???? Goshhhhhhhhh, she’s growing!!!
